In looking back at the Deltek federal IT market outlook for 2024-28, I can’t help but wonder what may change with the new administration. In looking at a few key areas, I would make sense that some focus areas and priorities would retain their importance, however there may be new areas of investment identified, or a shift in how much investment is made in one area or agency going forward. Some key takeaways for me in looking at the report include the following:

• The CMMC program would appear to be a continued priority
• Modern software approaches like Human-Centered Design, DevOps and DevSecOps, should be perceived as supporting efficiency and innovation
• Federal AI adoption should continue to expand, and maybe fully disrupted with the introduction of DeepSeek this week
• DoD and Homeland Security should still lead the spend race

It is too soon to understand what may be changing but it should become more clear within the next 2-3 months as new leadership is in place across the board.
