Several years ago I attended a leadership offsite where part of the discussion was based on the themes within this book – 212 the extra degree. We were a great company that was looking for that extra edge to raise the bar on how we were performing internally and externally for our customers.

I was reminded of this book recently and it made me reflect on how this concept still applies – we may be just 1 degree from achieving something that feels much farther from our reach today. I looked at the book again and what resonated with me again was the following:

• Take action with commitment
• You are responsible for your results
• Have simple, and clearly defined goals
• Never lose focus on long term goals
• Prune the diversions
