When the move was made this past weekend to shut down the 18F organization, it was not a complete surprise as the signals were out there that this was likely to happen. I was surprised this happened the way it did, and when it did (overnight), as these folks could have potentially been an asset to DOGE as they looked to reinvent how the government approach technology as an enabler. It will be interesting to see if this was the right move, or will this negatively impact the way forward and the new administrations intent to urgently press ahead on how all agencies leverage technology solutions in support of their missions.
