With the PMA memo released on December 8, it was encouraging to see clear, actionable priorities aimed at strengthening how the federal government operates, and, ultimately, improving the experience of the people who rely on these services. The memo reflects a continued push toward modernization, accountability, and delivering outcomes that matter.
One of the most notable focus areas is Leveraging Technology to Deliver Faster, More Secure Services, outlined through six key objectives:
- Consolidate and standardize systems, while eliminating duplicative ones
- Reduce the number of confusing government websites
- Ensure secure, digital-first services that are built for real people, not bureaucracy
- Defend against and persistently combat cyber enemies
- Eliminate data silos and duplicative data collection
- Reduce wasteful processes through artificial intelligence
Some of these are not groundbreaking, but it would be great to see them successfully achieved as the impact will be very positive.
